For the first time, pupils performed their Nativity Performance at Chamberlain Hall. The dress rehearsal was held on Wednesday 13th December and parents and family members who could not make the performance on the Thursday were welcome to attend. All went well with the rehearsal and the children were very excited about performing on the stage to their parents. Thursday’s performance was attended by 145 family members of the children at the school.
On Monday 18th December the children carefully made their way up to St Mary’ Magdalene Church, Bildeston for a Christingle Service by Reverend Jackie.

Six of our children were selected to go to Hadleigh High School to compete in an U9 cross country event on Wednesday 1 November 2017. They competed against other schools within our pyramid of primary schools. Our highest positions were 10th in the girl’s race and 9th in the boy’s race.
On 2 November 2017, a team of nine of our KS2 children competed in the annual village Tag Rugby festival at Whatfield Primary School. They worked really hard as a team and they came second overall which was a great result.
On Friday 17 November 2017, the children supported Children in Need by dressing up in the theme of “Be Bright, Be Seen” wearing lots of bright and fluorescent colours for the day! This tied in very well with the work our road safety officers are doing. So they were raising money for a great cause that makes a massive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children across the UK and raising awareness for road safety!
KS2 pupils were lucky enough to be able to take part in a Stone Age workshop on Thursday 14 September. The children learned that the Stone Age was an ancient time when people made tools from stone. They learned that the hunters and gatherers of this period wore fur and leather garments. People living in caves decorated their walls with pictures of animals. Carvings found on cave walls show giant bulls, stags, horses, bison and birds. The children have recently created their own drawings depicting cave paintings.
We were proud to have sent an U11 team to the Westbourne Football event held at Inspire Suffolk on 10 October. This was the first event with our pupils wearing our brand new sports kits. These were generously sponsored by Brett Valley Builders, Samurai Sport and also our PTFA. We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their very generous support. The team looked amazing and did particularly well too in the competition!
Children in Goldcrest, Robin and Kingfisher class all enjoyed a visit from Tina at Jaya Dance on 2 October. JayaDance Bollywood/Bhangra dance school workshops are very interactive and include talking about the origins of the workshop dance with bindi’s for all participants, teaching a Bollywood/Bhangra dance routine with colourful scarves and ankle bells, dressing the pupils in costumes and then performing the Bollywood/Bhangra dance routine.
The children had a wonderful morning and hope to enjoy further sessions with Tina.
