Our Governors

Welcome to our Governors’ section.

Our governors help to monitor the school by working closely with our head teacher and spending a morning in school every term scrutinising work books, carrying out lesson observations and acting as a critical friend of the school. They meet twice a term as a whole governing body as well as holding termly committee meetings to look at specific aspects of school life.

Chair of Governors

Mr Phil Clark

I have been a Governor for 5 years and Chair of Governors at Whatfield for the last 4 years. I became a Governor because I believed that I could best support and positively influence the education of local young people by getting involved. The shared experiences that I and other Governors bring, mixed with the expertise of the dedicated teaching team aims to give the school's children the very best start to their education.

Headteacher

Ms Lynne Golding

I moved to Suffolk from London in 2001 and have brought up my two children here through the middle school system.

I have worked in education for most of my working life, in secondary, special but mostly Primary Schools.

I have worked at Rattlesden, Ringshall, Whatfield and Bildeston Primary Schools.

I am very keen to help people develop and am pleased when staff do well.

After moving to Suffolk I finished m NPQH and have also studied for my Masters degree, completing that in 2014.

I am very proud of my two children, who I believe have grown up to be kind and interesting people. Ellie is a swimmer and has just completed her degree. Sam loves Music and is studying Music Technology and trying to make a success of his band KYANOS.

I like spending time with my family, walking, reading and researching my family tree when I have time.

I am so proud to be the lead of two good schools, which could not have happened without the support and hard work of the staff and governors.

Foundation Governor

Mrs Trish Whittle

I have been a Governor since 2014. I was first appointed as a Co opted Governor for Whatfield school, moving to be a Foundation Governor and more recently appointed Foundation Governor for The Partnership of Bildeston Primary and Whatfield CEVP schools.

I strongly believe in both schools playing an important part in village life and try to make sure that school and village work to their mutual advantage. My children both attended Whatfield school and as I am now a grandmother of 4 I am especially interested in the changes taking place in education.

I was on the joint Governor committee leading to the Federation of the two schools, Premises, Health and Safety Committee and now serve on the Personnel committee.

Before retiring I worked as an Occupational Health Nurse which gave me experience in the workplace, risk assessment and health and safety

Local Authority Governor

Mr A Jacobs

I am a Local Authority appointed Governor for Bildeston Primary school.  I have over 40 years experience in education from a primary class teacher, through over 17 years of headship to Area Manager for School Improvement for a Local Authority. Most importantly though, I live in Bildeston and so feel very proud of the opportunity to give something back to two areas about which I care so much, our village and primary education.

Co-Opted Governors

Mrs D Murton-Cadby

I am a co-opted governor and I have a daughter at the school. I’m currently on the PTFA and served as secretary for the past year. I decided to become a governor because I’m passionate about being part of our community and our children’s development and education. I want to be part of a team that strives for excellence, is passionate about what they do and ultimately work to nurture our children to be the best they can be. I want to be able to support the school in working towards its aims in any way I can and I get to meet some really lovely people along the way.

Mrs Sally Hayes

I became a parent governor as I strongly believe in Bildeston Primary and its aims.

I believe in being a pro active member of the school community and aiding the school in moving forward in achieving its goals.

I now enjoy teaching in school and being part of the governing body in supporting all members to strive for an even better school.
