Transport

Pupils in Owl Class have been learning all about different forms of transport. They have been studying hot air balloons. The children drew their own hot air balloon and coloured it in and stuck it onto a colourful background which they produced during an art lesson.

Keeping Healthy

In Year 2 we have been learning about keeping healthy, the importance of exercise, eating the right amounts of different types of food and hygiene. The children made wraps for a healthy packed lunch. We used red, orange and green peppers, cucumber, ice berg lettuce, feta and mozzarella. The children also made snack sacks containing carrot sticks, cucumber and sugar snap peas.

Art and Science

We painted pictures of ourselves in an Art lesson and in Science we looked at the different parts of the body. We then labelled our bodies. Don’t we look Good!

Geographical Skills

Geographical Skills that Key Stage 1 pupils are required to learn include:

  • Using simple compass directions (North, South, East and West) with locational and directional language to describe the location of features and routes on a map.

It all sounded very difficult, but not for Owl class who produced their own maps for the Bee Bots to use during fun and interactive learning.

Regular cirlce times are held to give the children the chance to give their ideas for making Bildeston Primary School a better place. These ideas are then taken to the school council meetings by the representatives from each class where they are discussed with the Headteacher.
