Bildeston Primary School

Bildeston Primary School has an active PTFA that has been an integral part of the school for many years and all parents are automatically members of the Association when their children join our school. It is primarily a fundraising group and the committee comprises of mainly parents and some teachers and always the opening for anyone outside the school who wants to get involved.

In the past the PTFA have organised Christmas and Summer Fayres, Pamper Nights, Quiz and Bingo Nights, plant sales and so on. Money raised contributes to various school trips such as the Suffolk Farm Fair, Crucial Crew, Pantomime visits, Sports Day ice lollies and Christmas crackers. In addition we agree a £1000 annual spend on school reading books, and a £50 per term spend for the gardening club. These amounts are not exclusive and one-off requests are dealt with separately.

During 2016 - 2017 we hosted children's discos, cinema nights, plant sales, as well as making items such as Christmas cards with the children. We also organised Christmas wreathes for parents which proved to be a success. The summer fete in July 2017 was most successful, raising approx. £1400.

This current academic year (2017-2018) we are focussing our efforts in raising money for the refurbishment of some older playground equipment and the IT rolling programme in school.

Our PTFA is a fun, friendly and sociable group and we are actively on the lookout for new members to join, or even to help out at events we organise. If you would like to get involved or have some fundraising ideas you'd like to share, please contact us via the school office.
